One of the best parts of the Christmas season is making Christmas cookies with the kids! But Christmas cookies should be delicious as well as include clean ingredients. So around our house, we make our cookies from scratch.

Sugar Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting (Christmas Cookies)
These are our favorite Christmas cookie recipe to leave for Santa.

Sugar Cookies
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- In an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. It typically takes 2 to 3 minutes.
- Once fluffy, add in egg yolks one at a time. Then the vanilla extract.
- Turn the mixer off and add the dry ingredients to the top. Mix slowly for 30 seconds to one minute.
- Use a cookie scooper to scoop the cookies in dough balls. Take the balls and roll them in sugar then place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Cream Cheese Frosting
- While baking, make the cream cheese frosting! In a stand mixer, mix the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add in the maple syrup and vanilla.
- Add in the powdered sugar half a cup at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
