Becoming a mom was a huge shift in priorities, and I believe that is true for most women. While we want to be with our kids as much as possible, we also want to support our families.

Many women decide they want to stay home with their kids, but struggle with the need to contribute financially to their family, too. There are so many great ways to earn extra income in new, creative ways; let me share a few of mine.

3 ways to make extra income while hanging out with your kids are:

  1. Sell extra items on Facebook: Naptime is a great time to clean out closets and list those items for sale on Facebook. If you have a baby, they will outgrow those clothes quickly! Keep up with their closets and list items for sale on Facebook Marketplace or Poshmark once they don’t fit anymore. My family and I have a hard time buying clothes brand new for our kiddos because of the pace at which they outgrow items. So we will purchase items at Goodwill, grab a few extra items, and list them on Facebook.
  2. Run Errands for Neighbors: If you have a baby or a younger kiddo who does well in the car, offer to run errands for your neighbors who aren’t so lucky! Consider shopping for groceries, running to the post office, or doing Target pick-ups for your neighbors. You can use your neighbor’s HOA page to find neighbors who need help.
  3. Watching other kids: The easiest way to make extra money is to watch another kid. There is such a shortage of affordable, high-quality childcare that watching an extra child or two is a great way to bring in extra money.

There are so many creative ways to make extra money, and these are only a few options. As a mom, it is important to set your priorities but also realize that you can still contribute to your family… in a more creative way than you have in the past.
