Lactation brownies have been super helpful for my milk supply, but they are also nutritious for the whole family. When I started my breastfeeding journey, I found a few common tricks to increase my milk supply online; sources suggested supplements or adding to my regular diet. I didn’t want to increase my budget by adding pricey supplements out of the gate, and I love baking, so I started with Brewer’s Yeast.

My biggest question was how do you add Brewer’s Yeast into existing recipes without messing them up, so I decided to start with what I consider the easiest recipe.

Lactation Brownies

If you need to boost your breastmilk supply, this is your go-to yummy recipe!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Cooling Time 5 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 4 people
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Brownie Mix
  • Water & Oil of the Brownie Mix
  • 4 tbsp Brewer's Yeast (I highly recommend the one I have linked because it is debittered and ties into recipes easily)
  • 2 tbsp Flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp water this is in addition to what the box says
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

  1. In a stand mixer, add the brownie mix and water/oil the box suggests and mix.
  2. Add in egg, Brewer's Yeast, flaxseed, and water, then mix. The consistency should be a little thicker than you are used to.
  3. Pour the ingredients into a greased baking dish and spread. Add the chocolate chips or chocolate syrup on top. This is a great place to let a kiddo help you with arranging the chocolate chips/syrup and making sure there is enough for the whole family to be happy!
  4. Bake according to the box directions.
  5. Enjoy!
