I get invited to a lot of potluck dinners, and my favorite potluck dish to bring is cobbler! Well, for a long time, it was microwave broccoli. Now, it is a cobbler because it is so easy. This cobbler can be made with any fruit you like, but my favorites are definitely blueberry cobbler and apple cobbler.
My cobbler recipe can be prepared in two ways: baked in the oven or in the slow cooker.
In case the instructions below are a little confusing, here is the breakdown of how to cook the cobbler in the oven and slow cooker:
- Cobbler Baked in the Oven: Put in an 8×4 pan like the on pictured to the right. Spread the filling, then the cake mix, then put the butter on top. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Cobbler Baked in the Crock Pot: Spread the filling in the base of the crock pot, then layer the cake mix and butter the same way you would in the pan. Set it on a low setting and let it cook for 4 hours.
It is much easier to move in a crockpot if you are heading out to a potluck dinner.
I highly recommend serving the cobbler with vanilla ice cream!
