I have always loved granola bars, but when I developed my treenut allergy, I lost the ability to eat them. The same was true with protein bars; I used to eat half a protein bar in the morning and half in the afternoon. I went about two years with no bars; it sucked! When I finally found a brand I could have, it ended up being so expensive.

Once I started making my own homemade granola, I thought homemade granola bars couldn’t be much harder. I took a few recipes, pulled them together, and created the recipe for my own homemade granola bars.

Homemade Granola Bars
These are a great way to make granola bars if you have food allergies or if you are looking to save money on all of the snacks!
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the Oven to 350 degrees and line one (or two if you want to make 2 different flavors at a time) with parchment paper. Then spray with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, butter, honey, brown sugar, brewer's yeast, flaxseed, and vanilla.
- Separate into two bowls evenly if you are making two flavors. If not, skip this step.
- Add in one cup of your preferred toppings to eat bowl (or 2 cups of the topping if you are only doing one flavor). I normally do one batch of chocolate chips and one batch of oreos at the same time.
- Spread the mixture into the pan and press the oat mixture down.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until it is golden brown.
- Let it cool for about an hour, cut it into bar size, and store in plastic bags for snacktime or school lunches.
